Role of soils in landscape stability withinthe Lake Teletskoe basin to heavy metals pollution

A study is made of the composition and properties of soils that determine their buffer capacity with respect to heavy metals (particle-size distribution, medium reaction, and humus, Fe, Al and carbonate content). It is found that the buffer capacity of soil cover within the Lake Teletskoe basin is estimated at 21.3–41.3, which corresponds to the moderate, increased and high degree.
