Transformation of floodplain-channel complexes of the rivers on the Middle-Amur lowland under amelioration conditions

We consider the influence of drainage amelioration on hydrological, morphological, morphometric and hydrochemical characteristics of the components of floodplain-channel complexes of the rivers on the Middle-Amur lowland. It is shown that the construction of a network of drainage canals within floodplains and catchment surfaces leads to an overall degradation of streams and to cessation of the development of channel and along-channel forms of micro- and mesorelief, while continual discharges of drainage waters have influence on the chemical composition of accumulating environments, specifically of bottom sediments.
