An investigation into the relationship between contents of organic and mineral components in the waters of the tributaries to Lake Baikal

We have examined the regularities of change in the relationship between amounts of organic and mineral components in the surface waters of the Lake Baikal watershed basin. We calculated the contributions from the sources of dissolved matter in the surface waters: organic and mineral matter of soils, and atmospheric precipitation. Components-indicators of matter sources have been revealed. By analyzing the linkages between components and sources, we identified the main processes that are responsible for formation of chemical composition of the waters.
