Reserves of heavy slash in the middle-taiga ecosystems along Yenisei Siberia

We investigated the reserves of heavy slash on the soil surface (according to classes of vegetation cover) for the middle-taiga subzone of Yenisei Siberia in the coverage zone of the measuring tower at the ZOTTO observatory. It is established that about half of the study territory corresponds to dark-coniferous forests and that the reserves of plant residues total 116.6 mil. t, 80 % of which is accounted for by dark-coniferous stands. The assessment was made with the goal of generating the data base on biogeocenoses components which is essential to a quantitative characterization of carbon reserves and fluxes.
