Indication of the dynamics of natural-territorial complexes in southern Western Siberia in connection with climate changes

An analysis of the response of natural-territorial complexes in the southern part of Western Siberia on current climate changes is made. Areas of lakes and solonchaks serve as aridization indicators in this case. Our investigations used data of ground-based field observations and space-acquired moderate spatial resolution images (Landsat, SPOT) spanning the time interval from 1989 to 2008. The results obtained show that earth remote sensing data are perspective for monitoring the processes caused by the humidification dynamics in the south of Western Siberia.
