Biochemical activity of soils from assessing the ecological state of environment
on the territories of petrol stations as exemplified by the city of Irkutsk

E.V. Naprasnikova

The indices of biochemical potential of the soil cover experiencing a constant above-standard technogenic impact are examined as the criteria for assessing the ecological state of urbanized environment. The level of hydrolithic and redox soil enzymes has been determined for the first time for such critical facilities as petrol stations. On these territories, a decline in biochemical activity, and an attenuation of the interrelation with pH of soils was revealed, and the degree of phytotoxicity was determined.
