Permafrost-landscape system of the Tommot–Kerdem Railway Route area

The paper presents a brief summary of relief peculiarities, distribution and thickness of permafrost, ground temperature at the depth of zero annual variation, depths of seasonal frost and active layer and ice content of frozen soils in seven physiographic regions. The most hazardous processes that could develop during route and embankment construction are identified. The most optimal ways for laying the railway route in its northern section are proposed, and preventive measures against negative impacts of the processes caused by environmental disturbance are recommended.
