Seismic monitoring of stress-strain conditions of coastal edge
at the Bolvansky geocryological key-site

In 2002-2003 at the geocryological key-site Bolvansky seismic researches were carried out to study the stress-strain conditions of the coastal edge. The methodical approaches used in this study were developed earlier for seismic monitoring of landslide process outside the cryolithozone. We have developed the principles of multiwave multiazimuth seismic technique based on simultaneous use of longitudinal and shear waves. The results confirm that the suggested multiwave multiazimuth seismic technique has been an effective tool of space-time forecast of coastal edge stability in the arctic zone before the occurrence of any discontinuity.
